On New Year’s Eve I sat alone in my cozy living room. My wood stove was burning bright and I often glanced at my beautiful Christmas tree, sparkling with lights. Before me was a task: to envision and write my “Snapshot” of December 31, 2022.
For those who have participated in “Your World of YES!” retreats with me, you know that this visioning exercise is an important feature. The “Snapshot” is a present tense picture of our lives 365 days from now.
My draft is in front of me as I write to you. I notice how the importance of nurturing meaningful relationships, of spreading kindness and compassion, and of building resilience and steadfastness in myself and my clients figures large. On December 31, 2022, I want to look back and be proud of having lead faithfully with these values, strengthening those that I touch and the world with goodwill.
Here are three simple questions that you can ask:
What is your vision?
How do you want to lead?
What do you want to be proud of a year from now?
I invite you to set aside an hour to write your snapshot. Remember to put it in the present tense: “I am,” I have,” “It is…”
My wish is that this year will be generous and gentle with you!
Yours on the Journey,
Martha
